Sponsor "flattening the curve" during this Covid-19 pandemic

HIMSS Ontario Chapter has heard that many of our members and corporate partners are struggling to find ways they can meaningfully contribute to "flattening the curve" during this Covid-19 pandemic. There is an opportunity to sponsor howsmyflattening.ca, the project that is providing near real-time data on where we stand in Covid-19 counts and predictions of care need in Ontario at this time. The project volunteers are combining the data analysis with advice from countries like China, Italy, and Spain. The Trillium Hospital Foundation is managing donations so tax receipts are supplied. For more information or to donate, please click here. For information on other ways to donate such as expertise or in-kind resources, please contact Dr. Darren Larsen at dr.darren@me.com  Thank you and please reach out to us if you have questions at ontario.info@himsschapter.org

Board of Directors 2020/21

We are pleased to announce that Howard Rosen has been voted in as President-Elect and our two new Directors-at-large are Bhavana Patel and Joanne Templeton. We would like to thank the other candidates who expressed interest in these positions.  Please visit our Board of Directors page for our 2020/21 Board.

Membership Engagement Survey

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide increasing value to our members, we have just completed a survey to better understand what we're doing well and how we can continue to improve. The survey has now closed and results will be shared with members in the near future. Also, if you were the lucky winner of the draw, a member of the team will be in touch soon with more information.

The Ontario Chapter of HIMSS and Emerging Leader Forum (ELF) have partnered to bring a new mentorship program to the Ontario health technology sector. This program looks to pair seasoned health technology leaders with emerging healthcare leaders. Through experiential learning, grounded in the mentors own professional context, mentees gain powerful new techniques for navigating their careers. As we move into 2020, those who are 5+ years into their career are encouraged to enroll as a mentor.
