Healthcare expenditures will continue to grow in the next 2 decades. Showing the value for the expenditures in terms that resonate with all stakeholders at all levels within an organization is imperative. Executives are now asking for return on investment (ROI) on major healthcare projects in technology, quality, patient experience, procurement, process improvement, compliance, innovation and other functional areas.

We need to connect these dots.

This four (4) part webinar series will provide participants with the essential knowledge required to use the ROI methodology. Using an IT project as a case study, participants will be able to understand how the ROI methodology can show benefits realization and ROI achieved (tangibles and intangibles).

1. Overview of the ROI Methodology and the application to Health Care

What is the new definition of Value? How can you show me the money? What are the 10 steps of the ROI methodology? How can the ROI methodology be applied to health care and health informatics? What are the ROI framework and the guiding principles?  What are the levels of measurement?  What are the five elements of an evaluation system? The presentation will address these questions and allow participants to start applying new learning’s.

2. Planning, Objectives and Data Collection

What is the V Model? How can the V Model support needs assessments and analysis to measurement? How to develop objectives at all levels? What is the power of objectives in ROI? How to conduct data collection during and after a program or project implementation?

3. Data Analysis; Isolation of benefits, Converting Data to Monetary Values

What different methods can be used to isolate program benefits? What are some of the techniques? How can we convert data to a monetary value? How do we ensure credibility?

4. Costs, Intangibles – ROI - & Reporting

Why are the fully loaded costs important? Why are intangibles, a very significant data set, important to ROI? How to calculate ROI? How to report the results and findings to executives?
